Website Short Sea Ship of the Future launched

Date: 9 July

Last week the website of the project Short Sea Ship has been launched. The website www.sss2025.eu gives an overview of the ideas and demands for the design of the Short Sea Ship of the future. These ships are made to ship cargo between ports within the 200 miles zone. The project is an European cooperation in which various Dutch innovation organisations participate, including HME and CMTI.

The project
The purpose of the project is to contribute to the development of future short sea ships and to the short sea shipping industry until 2025. This is achieved through an integrated approach from three points of view: ecology, economy and technology. An unique group of international stakeholders, consisting of ship-owners, shipyards, equipment suppliers, design bureaus, and financial institutes, have brainstormed about the future short sea. The website www.sss2025.eu gives an overview of the research and analyses which have been made by the project group.

Feedback
The interactive website provides the opportunity to give feedback on several technical topics, to clarify which developments have the best future perspective. Besides that you can also leave your comments. Your opinion is important.
